The origin of Adarsh college ghailarh- jiwachpur, madhepura (Bihar) took place on 5th September 1985, the “Teacher’s Day” Dr. Yogendra Prasad Yadav, an educationist and philanthropist took all the initiatives to establish the college. Cooperation of local people, who have loving attitude towards education helped in their own ways to shape the institution. Geographical circle of the college is outstanding. It is situated in a place (Jiwachpur) from where three districts, madhepura, saharsa, and supaul are of the same distance of 18 kilometer from each of the district. And thus it promoty boys and girls for education in a remote and economically backward area.

At the very beginning Dr. Yogendra Prasad Yadav was the founder secretary and Sri Bindeshwari Prasad Mandal was the president and Prof. Shyamal Kishore Yadav an active educationist who brought up the college from every corner. Dr. Upendra Prasad Yadav, the founder Principal of the college devoted himself for all-round development of the college. Temporary affiliation in the faculty of arts and commerce was given to the college in 1989-90. Temporary affiliation in the faculty of science was given to the college in 1994-95. Permanent affliation in the faculty of Arts & Commerce was given to the college in 1995-96. Permanent affiliation in the faculty of science was given to the college in 1999-2000.

Thus the college has proud of affiliation in 32 subjects which is simply rare in the university. Now the college is running smoothly in skilled supervision of Er. Pranav Praksh, secretary and prof. Shyamal Kishore Yadav, President and Sri Arun Kumar. Dept. of Maithili, working and acting as professor- in-charge of the college. The extended infrastructure is continuously argumented and upgraded. The college fulfill all request terms and condition of as described in U.G.C. The staff of the college are discharging continues service with whole hearted. The college in the lap of nature produces a beautiful scenery of sound ecosystem.
